October Project Overview

Week 1 summaries:

The first meeting was hold in week 1, everyone had determined the objectives of each project. The Smart Fish Feeder is my project and the objective of the project is to select the favourite fish food of the fish by using the fish feeder. Dr, Waleed organized the meeting and told us to prepare the logbook which is important for engineers. The logbook should record the work plan and work achievements every week. The first meeting also talked about the matters and attentions of the risk assessment form. 

In week 1, we also determined the project plan generally before the final bench inspection: 2nd April. The weekly meeting had set in Wednesday every week.

In conclusion, in week 1, I had been familiar with the final year project and determined the objective of the project. 

Week 2 summaries:

In week 2, Dr, Waleed took us to attend the meeting in Sensor City hold by an engineer of the Sensor City. In this meeting, I learnt the general process of completing a project. The first thing is to search the market which means to explore the previous project and make your project innovative. The ideas should be thought as many as possible which does not have to be faced to market. Also we talked about the specification report of the final year project, the specification report should be oriented to the clients not only for the supervisor.

In week 2, I also did the research of the previous feeder which can realize the automatic feeding in any set of time, which gave me great opportunities to improve and design to fit my requirement. Also, I did the research of the fish food market that as a general rule, fish should be fed little and often – as much food as they will eat within 2 minutes about 2-3 times a day. 'Over feeding' results in incomplete digestion of food and waste material produced by the fish can then pollute the water. It is important to ask about the specific feeding needs of a fish before purchasing it, as some may have special requirements. As a result, the fish food market is in fierce competition, the fish feeder that can select the favourite fish food is in high expectation. 

Week 3 summaries:

In week 3, the main thing was finishing the specification report. To finish the specification report perfectly, the important thing was to determine the whole project plan and make the research on the previous project.
